Little Skippy loves to hang out in the Canine Cove.  He can often be seen resting on one of the many blue beds in the doggy daycare room.  Skippy gets really excited to see Melissa (one of our dog daycare managers) when she is working in the lobby in the morning.  Since we have a few dogs named Skippy, he is known as ‘Little Skippy’.

Have a good day!

Norman after a day in the Ruff House at doggy daycareNorman is one of the golden retrievers that really enjoys going to doggy daycare.  This past Wednesday he spent the whole day playing in the Ruff House and outside with the hose and water.  He played super hard!  Wednesday night, we had a fund raiser at Bubbly Paws, and guess who showed up….. Norman!  He was so tired from a long day at doggy daycare, that he decided to lay down for his bath!  He is such a sweet guy!

Have a good weekend!

Blu is a cattle dog mix that has been coming to doggy daycare for over 2 years. She is ready to play the minute she walks throughout the front door, especially when she sees Roxy and Neddie! Blu’s signature move is her “butt wiggle”, but can also be seen playing with the water outside or running around Waggers Way with her other buddies. We love having Blu come visit us each week!

Check out who was featured in a recent TV commercial.  Ellen, Neddie and Gillis (who is one of our regular doggy daycare dogs)!  Such super stars!!

Thanks to LoriHarderFitness.com for this amazing picture from tonight.

I have been very busy watching the news and weather radar because we take storm season very seriously at Pampered Pooch Playground.  We get breaking weather alerts from the National Weather Service by text and email, and I always stay on top of what was going on.  Tonight as the tornado sirens kept going off, I was talking with Katie and Dana at the daycare to make sure that they and the dogs are ok.  We do have a set of procedures on how to react when there is any type of severe weather warning, or tornado in the area.  Our first priority is to keep the dogs safe.   If there is severe weather overnight, I am always on call and have plans for someone to spend the night at the doggy daycare if needed.

Have a good night and stay safe!

bruno outside ad dog daycare

Bruno loves catching the rays outside

I always wonder how some of the doggy daycares with small outside areas, or ones with no outside area manage.  Our dogs have so much fun going outside and playing in the sun.  Today we had such a hard time getting all of them inside!!  This was the first day that we broke out the pools and really had a real “water day”.  Everyone had so much fun!  Even Bruno the Min Pin (in the picture) loved to stand in the pool!  Our outside area is not made up of gravel, but recycled sports turf, which the dogs LOVE!  It has all the benefits of real grass, but lots easier to keep clean with no dirt, dust and mud!  Our outside area is over 3000 sqft of fun and one of the largest in the Twin Cities!

Finally!  The warm weather is here!!

roscoe at doggy daycareToday I was talking with Tami who does our grooming and she said that she has received a few emails asking if we were moving grooming from the PPP and bringing it to Bubbly Paws.  NO!  We will always have grooming at the PPP and Tami is not going anywhere (we won’t let her because she is AWESOME!).

Roscoe (in the picture) is one of the puppies that comes to doggie daycare a few times per week.  Roscoe runs in the front door and is so excited to to see all of his doggy friends!  He can be seen hanging out in the Canine Cove…. But we think he will soon be graduating to Waggers Way.

Have a great weekend!

white water raftingLast Tuesday – Sunday Trycia and I took a vacation from doggie daycare and headed off to Costa Rica for a few days.  Katie, one of our staff was just there with the U of M and helping to provide vet care.  She came back about 3 days before we left and she got us very excited for the trip and said we needed to go white water rafting.  We wanted to take a vacation where we could have a bit of adventure with it and one of the activities we did was to go white water rafting with class 3 rapids.  I am not going to lie, it was kinda freaky! Just because we were on vacation does not mean that we are not involved with the daycare.  We were always in contact with our staff and were on the webcams making sure everything was running smooth (and it was).  I know I always say this, but I know we have the best staff and it made leaving the country less stressful for me.

Have a good day!

Sandy and Rani napping at doggie daycare

Sandy and Rani take a break from playing at doggie daycare.

Yesterday we did a fun contest on our Facebook page.  I picked some of the most common dog names that we have, and asked everyone to add up how many of each name we have in the computer.  I put the contest up before I added up the numbers, and I was even shocked at how many of some of the names we have.  I put some of the results below.

Bella – 38

Jack – 24

Lucy – 51

Stella – 24

Lola – 26

Bailey – 26

Kinnick 2 (I just put this one in for fun)

So next time you call to make a reservation for Lucy, please make sure to use their last name ;)

Have a good night.
