Norman is one of the golden retrievers that really enjoys going to doggy daycare. This past Wednesday he spent the whole day playing in the Ruff House and outside with the hose and water. He played super hard! Wednesday night, we had a fund raiser at Bubbly Paws, and guess who showed up….. Norman! He was so tired from a long day at doggy daycare, that he decided to lay down for his bath! He is such a sweet guy!

Today I was talking with Tami who does our grooming and she said that she has received a few emails asking if we were moving grooming from the PPP and bringing it to Bubbly Paws. NO! We will always have grooming at the PPP and Tami is not going anywhere (we won’t let her because she is AWESOME!).
Roscoe (in the picture) is one of the puppies that comes to doggie daycare a few times per week. Roscoe runs in the front door and is so excited to to see all of his doggy friends! He can be seen hanging out in the Canine Cove…. But we think he will soon be graduating to Waggers Way.

Yesterday we had an evaluation from Gus the Shih Tzu puppy so he can start to come to doggy daycare. When I took him back to play with all of his new doggy friends, he was so excited to see them! When we do evaluations we are always careful to slowly introduce dogs to one another and normally start them with 1 or 2 dogs before letting them enter the room (some daycares just put them in the room right away). Anyway, Gus had so much fun playing yesterday!

Louise the Weimaraner enjoys the snow before it is shoveled away from the outside play area.
This morning I went to the doggy daycare bright and early to shovel our large outside play area. Surprisingly it is much easer to shovel snow BEFORE it is trampled down by a bunch of dogs playing in it. Anyway, when we do projects like this, sometimes we will have a few of the dogs around that like to help! This morning one of the dogs outside with my while I was shoveling was Louise the Weimaraner who has been boarding in our hotel! She kept chasing the shovel back and forth anytime I moved it. She had so much fun doing this! Louise was one of our first dogs through our door when we opened! Louise’s dad owns a great business down the street, Chux Screen Printing, and they print the logo’s on all of our clothing. When Louise is not at doggy daycare, she can often be seen running around the Chux offices. I stopped in one day, and she was VERY excited to see me!

Butters is one of the smaller dogs that hangs out in the Canine Cove while he is at Doggie Daycare.
Many of you have asked us to add another doggy daycare webcam for the Canine Cove. Placing webcams is always so hard, we really want to show you the entire room, but are so limited by where there is power and internet connections. I hope everyone enjoys the new Canine Cove camera! I still think back almost 3 years to April 20th, 2008 which was the first day we were open for doggy daycare. At 6:45am a lady walked in with her dog, Bindi and Roxy got really excited to see her and they started playing in our lobby! Roxy and Bindi quickly became best friends!! For the first year and a half, Bindi came to doggy daycare every weekday. When Bindi spends the night, she stays at our house since Roxy is her best friend. Bindi has been staying over the past few nights and it is really funny to watch Bindi and Roxy try to squeeze onto the couch with us!

There are lots of new doggy daycares that keep popping up and many of them are trying to be like the PPP. One even went as far as stealing content from our website. How do I know this?? Well, when I was looking at their site, they forgot to remove the term “Pampered Pooch Playground” from one of their pages. HA. I have to laugh because it is so funny! I have a picture, and maybe some day I will post it because it is really funny! I know the content on our website is pretty great, but come on…. Honestly though, new daycares don’t bother me, it actually pushes us to do more and be even more of an industry leader! What next.. Are they going to copy my blog posts.. haha!!
Today at the doggy daycare everyone had fun playing! I went in this morning to help where it was needed. During our holiday period we always add extra staff, but I honestly like to be involved all the time. So many owners just want to sit back and collect a paycheck… I want to be involved everyday with the dogs and our customers and know that is one of the ways that we stand out!
