Have a great night!
I am aware of many doggy daycares that have names very close to those of large companies, Urban Outsitters in Chicago comes to mind. The big difference with Urban Outsitters is the logo does not look close to the Urban Outfitters logo. We actually visited this daycare a few years ago when I was visiting my family in Chicago. I feel that when you pick a name that is close to a large company, you are just setting yourself up for trouble. No small businesses have that type of money to defend themselves, so why even start a battle! I am not an attorney, but I just wanted to offer my opinion It will be interesting to see how this ends.
Just to get some national media attention, I think we will change the name of Pampered Pooch Playground to NeimanBarkus!
There ya go… my .02 for the night.
As many of you know or hopefully have noticed, we stress the importance of outstanding customer service with all of our staff. There have been a few times where I have called out companies for not providing great service (see the Jimmy John’s post). Last night we went out to eat with a few of our friends and Trycia ordered a veggie burger. When the food came out it was obviously not a veggie burger. Trycia quickly brought it to their attention and they re-made it… Then the manager came over and apologized profusely and offered to comp our entire table for the dinner and drinks we had! WOW!! That is crazy!! That is how we try to do things at Pampered Pooch Playground and when we make a mistake (which happens), we try to always make it right! I talked to the manager after and told him how we owned a small business and that we would have handled it in the same way. Since it was handled so well, we stayed longer than we normally would have and spent more on drinks! It really is just great to know that other places go over the top to fix things!
Have a good day!
As many of you might know, we were one of the founding members of the Twin Cities Dog Daycare Assoication, which helps to set standards of care in a dog daycare setting. Channel 5 did a story last night, which explains why we are part of thig group. Channel 5 visited one of the member daycares in the Twin Cities to learn more.
As many of you know, we are part of the Twin Cities Dog Daycare Association, and all the doggy daycares have teamed up in a friendly competition to see who can collect the most food and money for local rescues. Today, KARE 11 invited the group on the air to talk about the food drive. Ann from Downtown Dogs was the spokesperson for the group of doggy daycares. All the doggy daycares mentioned are part of the group, and I am sp proud to call the other owners “Friends”. All of us get along great and put the needs of the dogs in our care ahead of everything else. As a random note, I was just off camera in the interview and I also set up the table with the toys and treats! If you missed the interview, you can watch it below. You can learn more and donate to the Great Minnesota Pet Food Drive online by clicking here.
Leaf was one of our first doggy daycare dogs and now it is time to honor him!Bubbly Paws is hosting Diva Dog Leaf’s Book Signing Party to benefit Helping Paws of Minnesota, a charity that trains service dogs to assist individuals with physical disabilities. Allen and Linda Anderson, local best-selling animal book authors, will autograph Allen’s new memoir, A Dog Named Leaf: The Hero from Heaven Who Saved My Life at Bubbly Paws.
Bubbly Paws will donate $5.00 from the sale of each book to Helping Paws, offer half-price nail trims, and knock 10 percent off the sale of all retail items during the book signing. Fun events include a doggy bar with “doggy beer”, a Helping Paws booth with a demonstration dog and volunteer to share information about training service dogs, the opportunity to sign up for pet photo appointments, and paw-tographs from Diva Dog Leaf, the dog hero with his own book.
