Some of you might know that one of my favorite breeds is a Rottweiler, and I was watching the today show. This week they are doing their Top Dog Competition, and they were showing some of the videos of people that entered. My Personal pick is Jake. Such a smart and cool dog. Watch it Here.
Looking for a really cool event involving dog lovers from around the Twin Cities?? Friday, May 14th, we have teamed up to sponsor the Mon Ami Event at the Galleria in Edina featuring the artwork of Jessie Marinello of Stray Dog Arts (she did the big picture of Roxy in the lobby). We would love to see you there! For more information, visit the Mon Ami Website. Also sponsoring the event are Sarah Beth Photography, K9-Connection, Sidewalk Dog, Fetch Delivers and Bone Adventure.
This week Trycia and I are on vacation so I am blogging with some of my favorite pictures from the previous week. Cosi the french bulldog, and Flynn the golden doodle had fun playing last week. Cosi always things she is a big dog and always finds the bigger ones to play with!!
A big thanks to our staff for making this week go very smooth! I know I have said it before, but I really know we have some of the best doggy daycare staff around!

Here is one of my favorite pictures from the past week at doggy daycare. Simon the bulldog loves to lay outside in the sun. Last Friday we were putting together something new for the outside area, and there was Simon watching our every move. He will be really excited with what we have planned for our outside area. Next Sunday (weather permitting) everything will begin! You want to know what is going on??? We will be the first doggy daycare in the Twin Cities to use recycled sports turf in the outside area. The gravel will be covered with some of the University of Arazona turf (who knows there might be a 50 yard line somewhere). We are really excited for this, and it is just another way that we try to be green!
The other night one of our cleaners was sick, so I filled in. Kiko, one of our overnight dogs wanted to hang out and help make sure I cleaned correctly. Kiko absolutely loves being around people and stuck to my side the entire night, until it was time for dinner. Then she became distracted and decided to eat. Kiko is one of our regular hotel guests and hangs out in the waggers way room.
Have a great weekend and enjoy some nice weather

Many of you know that one of our good friends is Ali Jarvis who was the founder of Sidewalk Dog and she has done so much for the Twin Cities dog community. This past week she had to put her dog Luc down because of some of his health problems. Many times at events you would see me walking around holding Luc, and Ali joked that I was his dad. Luc was the inspiration behind Sidewalk Dog and trying to bring the dog community in the Twin Cities closer together.
You can read more about this on the Sidewalk Dog Blog.
Go give your pooch a big hung and let them know how special they are!

A big PPP welcome back to Bella, who was one of our first Doggy Daycare dogs! Last fall she tore both of her ACL’s and this was her first day back. She was so excited when she ran in the lobby, she jumped up and gave a huge hug and kiss. You can tell that Bella had some built up energy, she was a playing-fool today!
Other PPP News. Heather just announced some new training classes that are starting soon. Puppy and Dog Training at Pampered Pooch Playground is lots of fun and the small class sizes are a huge plus. For more information on dog and puppy training classes visit our training page.

There are many foods that are not safe to give your dog and one of our customers sent us this link. Check it out so your pooch can stay healthy!
Matilda, spent the day running and chasing everyone in the Ruff House. She is one of the puppies that we have watched grow up at Pampered Pooch Playground. I still remember when she was a quarter of her size and she would only go in the Waggers Way room.
Big News… Today I signed a contract for something really cool for our outside area. We are the only doggy daycare in the Twin Cities to do this, and one of the first in the nation. The work should be starting in about 3 weeks. Details very soon.

Today our doggy daycare Zen Den was packed with some larger dogs that just wanted to lay around. In the Zen Den were Skippy (doodle), Mia (leonberger), Otis (great dane), and Starbuck (st. Bernard). Most of these guys have been spending the night boarding in our Hotel. One big part of our hotel service is to make sure each dog gets plenty of rest, as attending doggy daycare takes lots of energy. So all of them were in the Zen Den and I am sure that it looked really funny on the webcam. Before Starbuck went home, Jamie gave this big puppy a bath.
Hope you have a great night.
