Drake came to visit dog daycareDrake, one of our old Pet Haven foster dogs stopped in to say hi to everyone today!  He has 3 legs but that does not stop him!  It has been about 5 months since I last saw him, and his tail started wagging the minute I walked in!  We love when Drake comes to visit, he gets LOTS of love and attention from the PPP staff (and even more from some of our older employees that were around when we fostered him).  I tried to take him on a walk with Roxy this morning, and all he wanted to do was lay in the grass and get his belly rubbed!  It was so great to see him today!

Izzy's birthday at doggy daycare

Happy Birthday Izzie!

Today was a very exciting day, and sad day for the PPP crew!  One of our first daycare dogs, Moby the french bulldog, had his last day with us!  He will be moving to Sweeden with his parents!  Moby’s mom is the person who suggested that we get beds for the playrooms.. Now we have over 20 beds :)  We are really doing to miss Moby, everyone was giving him lots of hugs today!!  Moby even brought the staff a bunch of Sweedish food, and it was YUMMY!!!  Thanks!

We also had 2 birthdays to celebrate today.  Izzie (the terrier) and Jack (the boston) both brought treats for everyone!

Finally, we got the good news that Guy passed his service dog test and has been placed in a home so he can work!  Guy was being fostered by one of our customers and it was the first time they tried doggy daycare with a service dog in training!  We are so glad that Guy found his forever home!!  Now Guy’s parents are fostering another service dog in training, Phoebe!  I hope she follows in Guy’s footsteps!

Oh, one more thing.. We had 5 Bernese dogs in our building today, with the youngest being 14 weeks old and the oldest was 6 years!

Have a good day!

Roxy goes to the vetAs strange as it might sound, Roxy really likes to go to the vet and staff at Lake Harriet Vet really love her!  While we were sitting in the lobby, there was a painting behind the desk that caught our attention and then we quickly put it all together.  It was a painting of Ella who comes to doggy daycare and it was painted by her mom, Jessie,  who owns Stray Dog Arts!   Jessie also painted the picture of Roxy in our lobby!  Jessie was one of our first customers and does amazing work!  It is such a small world :)

Hope everyone has a good night!

Chloe at doggy daycare in Minneapolis

Chloe at doggy daycare.

People often ask how we can tell the doggy daycare dogs apart so well.  Honestly, it is because we are with them all the time so it is very easy for us and you learn not only how the dog looks, but their personality.  Sometimes we will tell the owner that their dog has a twin, but it was very obvious this morning.  2 dogs that looked alike walked in at the exact same time, and the owners were laughing at how much they looked the same.  Chloe and Shilo walked in and the owners were both laughing at how much they were the same.  As much as we trust ourselves, just to be safe in the play areas, we do put tags on dogs when they look like other dogs so we are always positive we send the correct one home; this happens often with the golden retrievers and labs that can all blend together.

Have a great day!

bacon at dog daycare

Bacon had lots of fun playing in Waggers Way today!

This morning I was driving in and decided to see if the Doggy Daycare crew wanted anyting… I chatted the daycare and got their order, went through the Starbucks drive through and I was all excited to  use my new iPhone app to pay for the drinks…. Then I found out that they don’t accept the iPhone app through the drive through.  I was so bummed because I was so excited to try it!  That got me thinking… I wonder if there is a way we can use the PPP iPhone app to speed up the check out process at the daycare.  My wheels are spinning and I have sent a few emails about it.

And the best part is that our staff was very happy for the coffee this morning!

Bacon's mom is leading Team Paws and Pooch in fundraising.Last week we emailed everyone about our team for the Walk for the Animals and everyone is getting very excited for it.  We have teamed up with Bubbly Paws, and Lucky Paws Dog Training (Heather our trainers company) to create a fun team with prizes for people who sign up!  I just checked on the team and was shocked at what i saw!  Bacon’s mom (french bulldog) was in the lead, raising over $500!!  WOW!  For more information on the team, visit PawsAndPooch.com .  We look forward to having you on the team!

Gus the shih tzuYesterday we had an evaluation from Gus the Shih Tzu puppy so he can start to come to doggy daycare.  When I took him back to play with all of his new doggy friends, he was so excited to see them!  When we do evaluations we are always careful to slowly introduce dogs to one another and normally start them with 1 or 2 dogs before letting them enter the room (some daycares just put them in the room right away).  Anyway, Gus had so much fun playing yesterday!

Have a great night.
