Apple Store and Drinks with Roxy

Roxy out for drinks in Minneapolis, MNTonight there was a dog friendly event at the Apple Store in Minneapolis (uptown).  Many of you know how much I love Apple, and all the employees were loving our  iPhone app, Pooch Vision (we were the first daycare and still one of the few that has their own app).  The Apple Store is always dog friendly, but it was pretty cool to see 30 dogs all behaved and having fun there!  Our friends from Sidewalk Dog gave a preview of their new website, and Sarah Beth Photography talked about how she edits photos on a Mac. After we left this great event, Trycia and I walked a few feet down the street and decided to stop and get a drink.  What I really love about Minneapolis is how dog friendly it is!  So here we are sitting on the patio drinking with Roxy next to us (well sometimes she decided it was a good idea to lay in the sidewalk!!).

Now I need to apologize for not blogging much this week!  I have been battling a pretty nasty sinus infection and just wanted to take it easy!!

Have a good night!

The Twin Cities Puppy Bowl is Back!

Twin Cities Puppy Bowl logoGet ready Twin Cities.  One of my favorite events of the year is back and bigger than ever; the Twin Cities Puppy Bowl!  Last Year Pampered Pooch Playground was a main sponsor of the event, and this year we have moved aside, and let our other business, Bubbly Paws Dog Wash sponsor it.  Also part of the event are Sarah Beth PhotographySidewalk Dog and Just Paws Training.  We will be filming all the puppy cuteness this weekend and it will be released online very soon!  Look for some pictures this weekend from the filming!  Most of the puppies featured in the Twin Cities Puppy Bowl are available for adoption from local rescues.  As we always talk about, one of the core values of Pampered Pooch Playground is to give back to the community in which we are located and this is just one way that we do it.  If you want to watch some of the puppy cuteness from last year, you can watch the video on the Twin Cities Puppy Bowl website. Have a good night!

Getting ready for a BIG weekend

Jackson the black lab Today I spent most of the afternoon getting ready for a big event weekend!! This weekend Pampered Pooch Playground is the "Top Dog" sponsor of the Linden Hills Woofstock.  This is one of my favorite dog events of the year an this is the reason we are sponsoring it 2 years in a row!  Woofstock is actually one of the reasons that we moved to Linden Hills!  Stop out at the Pampered Pooch Playground booth and have your picture taken in our "old school" photo booth.  We are also sponsoring the warm water dog wash with all the money raised going to the Pet Project.  While you are there make sure you stop over and check out all of our friends businesses.  Bubbly Paws Self Service Dog Wash, Modern Life Photography, Sidewalk Dog, Sarah Beth Photography, K9- Connection.  All of these are great LOCAL business that we love to work with.  Make sure to stop over and say hi, and pick up some of the goodies we have :)

Trycia spent the morning taking new pictures of the daycare dogs!  For the new pictures, make sure to check out our September photo gallery!

Have a good night!

A fun Dog Community Wedding

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Yappy Hour in Minnetonka, MN

Wow, what a turn out at Yappy Hour at Pairings Food and Wine in Minnetonka, MN.  So many people and it was great to see so many of our customers there. Trixie, the pug is one of the dogs that checks in for boarding in our hotel and she LOVED going to Yappy Hour.  This was her parents first time taking her to a restaurant and Trixie did wonderful!  Modern Life Pets was there snapping pictures of all the dogs, and the pictures will be on their website soon. If you are looking for a cool website that lists all the dog friendly places in the Twin Cities, check out Sidewalk Dog which is run by a good friend of ours. Hope everyone had a wonderful day!

Sushi With Your Poochie

We always want to be part of fun dog events and the last 2 nights we sponsored Sushi With Your Poochie at Tiger Sushi in Uptown.  Both nights were HUGE success and everyone had so much fun.  Roxy was there last night and she had her paw read by the paw reader.  She said that Roxy is a very confident girl that loves to be the boss.  It was great to see so many of our customers there each night.  Look for another exciting event in August! Have a great day!

Sushi With Your Poochie 2

Mark your calendars for July 20th and 21st for the return of Sushi With Your Poochie at Tiger Sushi 2 in uptown Minneapolis.  We have teamed up with Sidewalk Dog, Sarah Beth Photography, Bone Adventure and Scoopy Poo to bring this awesome event to you. Last year's event was a great success considering it was the first doggie/sushi party the Twin Cities has ever seen, this year, we've worked out the kinks to make sure everything runs like a well-oiled fun machine. Here are some highlights to look forward to:

  • The sushi artists at Tiger Sushi 2 have offered to hand roll special dog-friendly maki sushi for our four-legged friends!
  • A very insightful "paw reader" will be on hand to inform you what lies ahead in your pet's future.
  • You've got two chances to attend—the event will be held on both Tuesday, July 20th and Wednesday, July 21st. So if one night conflicts with your golf game, don't sweat it. Plus, each night will be less crowded and more fully staffed than last year.
  • In addition to being able to order off Tiger Sushi's amazing happy hour menu, which the restaurant is offering for the entire event, you can purchase ready-to-eat boxed sushi from a table on TS2's beautiful patio.
  • A small portion of ticket proceeds, paw readings and martini sales will go to our fabulous beneficiary, Minnesota Spay Neuter Assistance Program (MNSNAP), which provides low-cost spay and neuter services in a mobile surgical unit. MNSNAP will also receive part of the proceeds from all paw readings and $1 from each of Tiger Sushi's fabulous martinis (Ninja Jinga or or Pomegranate Empress, anyone?) sold that night. On-site donations are also encouraged.

Looking for a really cool event involving dog lovers from around the Twin Cities??  Friday, May 14th, we have teamed up to sponsor the Mon Ami Event at the Galleria in Edina featuring the artwork of Jessie Marinello of Stray Dog Arts (she did the big picture of Roxy in the lobby).  We would love to see you there!  For more information, visit the Mon Ami Website.  Also sponsoring the event are Sarah Beth Photography, K9-Connection, Sidewalk Dog, Fetch Delivers and Bone Adventure.

Rembering Luc

Many of you know that one of our good friends is Ali Jarvis who was the founder of Sidewalk Dog and she has done so much for the Twin Cities dog community.  This past week she had to put her dog Luc down because of some of his health problems.  Many times at events you would see me walking around holding Luc, and Ali joked that I was his dad.  Luc was the inspiration behind Sidewalk Dog and trying to bring the dog community in the Twin Cities closer together. You can read more about this on the Sidewalk Dog Blog.

Go give your pooch a big hung and let them know how special they are!

Food Drive Update

Last Saturday we sponsored the "Tails Up" food drive for the Pet Project at Fetch Delivers. We raised over 10,000 pounds of food and over $1000 in cash for this great group.  Thanks again to everyone that came out to support them!  In the picture are Jodel from the Ollu Dog Wash and Ali from Sidewalk dog and dogs George (with Santa) and Luk (in my lap). Have a great day!
