Shuttle by Keith

Skippy and Cyrus Wow!  you know that there is a MASSIVE amount of snow when we have to shovel a special path for Roxy to go outside!  I really need to send a special thanks to all of our staff who braved the road conditions to come in and care for all the dogs!  Unfortunately we are not like a regular business that can just close early because of the weather.  We always have dogs, and they always need care and attention!  Some of our staff even have had problems getting to and from work, so I have started picking people up and driving them (would the owner of your company do that?). As of this post, 3 rides and counting, maybe I should put a meter on my dashboard and charge!  Seriously though, it is the least we can do as an employer to help!

Have a great snow day and try to stay warm!

Hola Lola!

Lola the yellow lab at doggy daycare in Minneapolis,mn Lola is one of the Yellow Labs that comes to doggy daycare everyday!  She walks in the front dog and she is all wags when she comes in!  Lola is often seen playing in Waggers Way, and most of our staff refer to her as "Hola Lola".

There is a pretty big snowstorm that is going to happen tonight, and one of our customers asked "will someone be able to make it in Saturday".  Erin our manager replied, "Keith will always make it in no matter what the weather!  He will even drive in on a bulldozer if needed".  So funny, yet so true.  Now I need to see if any of our Linden Hills neighbors have a bulldozer!

Have a great night!

Ash on the news

Tonight Trycia and I were watching the KARE 11 5pm news, and who do we see on there?? Ash, one of our managers with her dogs!  She told us 2 days ago that she was interviewed, and I just thought that it was an excuse for being late, but boy was I wrong...  Enjoy! [youtube=]

Kinnick and the snow

Kinnick is a Bernese Mountain Dog puppy who loves the cold and snow and if it was up to him, he would sit outside for hours.  Last week when there was fresh snow, Kinnick had so much fun running and playing in it!  I felt bad bringing him in. Trycia just added some new pictures to the December photo gallery.

Sorry to cut this short, but Trycia and I are off to take some winter pictures with Sarah Beth in the fresh snow.

Snow and Doga

Today was another big day for our dog daycare and hotel guests.  The day started out with our hotel dogs helping me shovel our outside play area.  We shovel an area for some of our smaller dogs or dogs that don't like the snow.  It was great to see the happiness in the dogs when they ran outside and saw all of the snow. Then later in the morning, Trycia and I bundled up and brought the daycare dogs outside for a long play session.  They had so much fun tearing it up in the snow.  We put a few videos on our facebook fan page. Did you catch us on the FOX 9 Morning News today?  M.A. Rosco stopped out to show off what it was like to do doga.  If you missed the clip, you can watch it by clicking here.

The first real snow!

Roxy really, really, really loves the snow.  From the minute it starts snowing she keeps wanting to go outside watch it fall.  Today, we asked on our facebook fan page how many of your dogs love the snow and everyone that responded said that their pooch enjoyed it.  The biggest shock was Roxy the yorkie, who is only 5 pounds and enjoys snow. On snow days when the traffic is really bad, we waive our late pickup charge because we want you to drive safe and not rush to pick up your pooch.  We do have people around until 8:30pm for pick up tonight.  Also, if the steps outside our building are hard for you, please call us and we will run your pooch out to you, we don't want anyone falling!

Have a good night and enjoy our first snowfall!

What a great day!

harborI think many of the big dogs were really excited to see the snow.  Many of the bigger guys loved playing outside until the snow melted.  Harbor's dad rode his bike to work today, then biked to the daycare to pick up Harbor and she runs alongside the bike.  I am amazed that Harbor still has any energy left after a long day at doggy daycare.  Good thing is they live less than a mile away!  That is some serious dedication to ride the bike in the snow and sleet! Every month we have a company come in and service our heating and cooling system and we normally do it on Mondays because it is a slower day in the daycare.  So when we do this, we put the big dogs on the small dog side, and the small dogs go into another room.  We have the system down good, and it only lasts like this for about 30 minutes, but the minute the big dogs go into a new room they get so excited!  They have to run around and check everything out.  So our service guy serviced all the units and the dogs returned to normal.  Then this afternoon the St Louis Park fire department came out to do their annual safety inspection.  They walked through the whole building and really enjoyed going in with the little dogs.  We passed our safety inspection with flying colors.  Other than that, the good news is we are working on creating another play area, and the construction will begin on that on Sunday.  More details on that very soon.

Have a great night.
