stray dog arts

Roxy-1szcAbout 6 months ago we asked one of of our good friends, Jessie Marianello from Stray Dog Arts to paint another picture of Roxy.  I guess a proud doggy poppa can never have too many paintings of Roxy!  Jessie was one of our first doggy daycare customers and she also painted the large picture of Roxy that is hanging in the lobby. Just a few days ago, Jessie dropped off the new painting of Roxy, and it is so AMAZING!  Jessie does such a great job of capturing Roxy's personality and putting into her paintings.  I don't know what else to say, but we are so happy for our amazing new piece of art that is now hanging in our house! Jessie puts this same about of love and energy into all of her paintings.  WE also had Jessie paint a picture of Trycia's sisters dog, Roman, for Christmas 2 years ago!  About 2 years ago I remember when she came running into our lobby to tell us that her work was featured in Bark and Modern Dog Magazine.  I am so proud of all of her success and proud to call her a good friend of ours!

Have a good night!

Roxy goes to the Vet

Roxy goes to the vetAs strange as it might sound, Roxy really likes to go to the vet and staff at Lake Harriet Vet really love her!  While we were sitting in the lobby, there was a painting behind the desk that caught our attention and then we quickly put it all together.  It was a painting of Ella who comes to doggy daycare and it was painted by her mom, Jessie,  who owns Stray Dog Arts!   Jessie also painted the picture of Roxy in our lobby!  Jessie was one of our first customers and does amazing work!  It is such a small world :) Hope everyone has a good night!

Worth the wait!

roman the black lab This past March, Trycia talked to Jessie from Stray Dog Arts about painting a picture of her sister's dog, Roman.  Jessie told us she was so busy that she could not promise to have it done by Christmas, but would try her hardest!  Last wednesday Jessie dropped off the painting off at Pampered Pooch Playground and it was AMAZING!  She truely captured Roman and his LOVE of the tennis ball. I wanted to post a picture on our website that minute, but Trycia's sister reads our website and Facebook page.  Christmas eve we gave them the painting and everyone loved it!  We even made a video so Jessie could see the reactions on their faces when they opened the box!  I can't thank Jessie from Stray Dog Arts enough for her AMAZING work.  Side note... Jessie was one of our first customers and painted the picture of Roxy hanging in the lobby!

Hope everyone had a great holiday!

Opening night at the Bulldog

Red Stag Supper Club in Minneapolis, MN Last night we went to the opening of the Stray Dog Arts gallery at the Bulldog in NE. Minneapolis.  Featured is the work of PPP customer Jessie Marianiello and all the dogs painted were bulldogs.. Get it, Bulldogs at the Bulldog.  Creative!  Anyway there were lots of people from the pet Minneapolis pet industry there, and we went out for dinner and drinks after the show with some of our friends from Bone Adventure, Sarah Beth Photography, Lucky Mutt Photography and yes, Jessie the artist!

Tonight we have the Pet Haven Fall benefit, so I need to go rest up!

Have a good day!

Roxy's Car Ride

Today Trycia and I were at the Galleria in Edina installing a webcam so you can watch our friend Jessie from Stray Dog Arts paint at her art exhibit.  If you have not been there to check it out, this next Friday night would be a great time at our Mon Ami event.  We brought Roxy with us, and on the way there she decided to stick her head out the window and I made a video of it.

Who stole Roxy?

Did you notice that Roxy's painting in the lobby is missing?  One of  our customers thought that the painting was stolen, but it is being borrowed by Jessie of Stray Dog Arts who is the painter!  She has a gallery show all month long at the Galleria in Edina and she wanted to show off Roxy!  So we said that she could use it for the month.  Jessie was also one of our first customers when we opened and her dogs Louie and Ella checked into our doggy hotel today.  We are sponsoring an event next Friday night at the Galleria called MonAmi.  Get more information about this great event at Have a good night.

An end to a busy week.

8125_150219206851_23604646851_3194512_2156402_nWhoa, can you believe that fall is finally here?  We turned on the heat at the daycare for the first time today, and that is when it hit me that the nice warm weather is gone!!  Lilly, the basset hound is a regular face in doggy daycare, but this weekend she is staying in our hotel.  Lilly loves LOTS of attention and lots of belly rubs!  Lilly also knows the command "where's your belly" and she will roll over on her back so you can rub it. We are busy getting all ready for Monday, which is sure to be a big hit!  We sold off the naming rights to the Pampered Pooch Playground webcam blimp, to  It will be now known as the Webcam Blimp.  We launched it today, and it seems to be working good.  Visit our website on Monday to watch the video from it.

Also next week, our good friend Jessie from Stray Dog Arts will be making a trip to Red Lake Rosies rescue and is asking for donations.  Starting Monday, we will have a bin in the lobby for donations.  They are looking for just about anything from dog food, cat food, leashes, collars, bleach and laundry detergent.  For more information on Red Lake Rosies, you can visit their website. Please have all donations dropped off by noon on Friday.

Have a great weekend!
