The Twin Cities Puppy Bowl is Back!

Twin Cities Puppy Bowl logoGet ready Twin Cities.  One of my favorite events of the year is back and bigger than ever; the Twin Cities Puppy Bowl!  Last Year Pampered Pooch Playground was a main sponsor of the event, and this year we have moved aside, and let our other business, Bubbly Paws Dog Wash sponsor it.  Also part of the event are Sarah Beth PhotographySidewalk Dog and Just Paws Training.  We will be filming all the puppy cuteness this weekend and it will be released online very soon!  Look for some pictures this weekend from the filming!  Most of the puppies featured in the Twin Cities Puppy Bowl are available for adoption from local rescues.  As we always talk about, one of the core values of Pampered Pooch Playground is to give back to the community in which we are located and this is just one way that we do it.  If you want to watch some of the puppy cuteness from last year, you can watch the video on the Twin Cities Puppy Bowl website. Have a good night!

Looking Back - The past 2 years

roxy the bernese mountain dog2 years of Doggy Daycare!!!  Wow, how time flies! Yesterday was our 2 year anniversary party and I can't thank all of you enough for making Pampered Pooch Playground what it is today!   I remember when we had our first open house before we opened and we had over 100 people show up to "check us out".  Then the first day we were open our first dog Bindi, was ready to come and play at 6:50am.  The first few days we had 2 or 3 dogs and I was very excited!  Yesterday at the anniversary party it was great to see so many of our customers that have been with us since the first month we opened and I kept talking about how the dogs have grown and changed.  I feel like all of the dogs are like our little kids.

What some of you might not have noticed at the anniversary party is 3 of the employees that were there were employees that we hired before we opened.  Anna, Vanessa and Heather (our trainer and manager) all were with us at our grand opening celebration 2 years ago.  After the anniversary party we went out with some of our staff and we were talking about how things have changed and how we have evolved.

A big thank you to Tami our groomer who owns Muddy Paws Cheesecake for catering all of the wonderful food that we had.  She went over the top and made so many great dishes for everyone to enjoy.  Thanks to Sarah Beth Photography for stopping out and taking some pictures of all of the fun!  The pictures will be up soon and we will share them with all of you. Thanks to Ellen one of our managers for baking the doggy cake and goodies!  And finally to all of our wonderful staff (I would list all of their names here, but everyone helped out so much) that was working at the event and to all of our customers!  You guys are amazing and we love all of your dogs!!  Look forward to some really great things to come later this year!!

Ok, enough of this, I feel like I am giving one of those cheesy acceptance speeches at the Grammy's!

Have a great Sunday!

We're More than Doggy Daycare

So many of my blog posts focus on what goes in at Doggy Daycare, and I always seem to forget about the other services we offer like Training and our Spa / Grooming Services.  I am going to work harder to talk about these services, because I know many of you take advantage of them.  Today I had a meeting in our training room (I hate to meet in our office, so we use our training room as a office sometimes).  Heather had the first Play and Train session with Reagan today who is a golden retriever puppy.  We are the only doggy daycare to offer a play and train program.  You drop your dog off for a day of daycare and Heather will work 1 on 1 with your dog to achieve the behavior you want.  This is a great program and I love that so many of our customers take advantage of it. Have a great night.

Bruno and Cyrus

Meet Bruno and Cyrus, 2 of the Miniature Pinscher's that come to doggy daycare almost every day.  Cyrus belongs to Melissa, one of our employees and Bruno is one of our customers dogs.  Both love to be close to each other.  Bruno has taken training classes with Heather, and is now part of our play and train program.  Bruno is always very excited to come in our front door, but gets even more excited when Heather is up front.  He starts jumping up and down and it is really cute! Have a good night.

Happy 2nd Birthday Schatzie

Schatzie, a German Shorthair comes to doggy daycare every weekday and hangs out in the Ruff House and today she turned 2.  She came in with a HUGE bag of treats for everyone!  Schatzie can be seen running all around the Ruff House and standing in the castle looking out the window.  One would think that going to doggy daycare everyday would make her tired at home.  WRONG!  She goes home after daycare and will go hunting in the backyard for a few hours. Another sign that the warm weather is here to stay.  Today I re-installed our webcam in the outdoor play area.  We took it down over winter because the cold weather and webcams are not the best of friends.

Have a good night.

Chester

Say hello to Chester, a White German Shepard.  Chester is a big fan of doggy daycare and enjoys hanging out in the Ruff House while at dog daycare. Last night we took our staff to Muddy Paws Cheesecake (Tami, one of our groomers owns it), for a fun night out.  Everyone got to make their own cheese cake.  Just wait until you heard what flavor I made.  I will tell you if it was any good after I taste it tomorrow.  It was a fun time and all of our staff really enjoyed it!

Have a good night.

Sunday Fun

Today, we sent all of our managers and Trycia to a training seminar on first aid, CPR and kennel management. So while they were away, I was at the daycare holding everything down.  Sundays are so much fun at the PPP because they are so laid back and the dogs LOVE it!! Frankie was one of the hotel guests who has been staying over. All of the dogs, and our staff are very excited for the warmer weather! Tomorrow is a big night for Roxy!  She is going to take her Canine Good Citizen test.  I know she will do great!

Have a good night.
