Dog Flu in Minnepolis

Over the past week you might have heard lots of talk about the "Dog Flu" in the media. At Pampered Pooch Playground we take your dogs health very seriously and have been monitoring this situation very closely with the help of local vets in the area. 2 weeks ago, there was a large outbreak in Chicago, and only 1 confirmed case in Wisconsin (from a dog that was in the Chicago area). We will continue to monitor the situation closely, and update everyone through Facebook and email. We rely heavily on all of our customers to keep any dog that is acting sick (runny nose, cough, diarrhea, etc) home as we don't want anything to spread. If we notice a sick dog, we will isolate them and ask for the parents to come pick them up. As always if you have questions or concerns, please consult your vet.  For more information from the Univeristy of Minnesota Veterinary Center is available below:

As always, feel free to reach out to us at any time.

Anna's Last Day

Anna, daycare staffOne of the hardest things about owning the doggy daycare is finding good employees and it is always sad when a member of the PPP family moves on.  Anna was one of our original staff and we always joke about how she was our first interview.  The construction was barely done, and we interviewed her at the Caribou on the U of M campus.  Trycia and I never did an interview before and I think we were just as nervous as she was!! Anyway, Anna worked for us for about a year, then went to New Zeland for a year for school..... Came back and worked for us for another year, and now will be finishing school in New Zeland.  Anna is also Tyson's owner (the black lab) who you might have seen in the lobby.  We are going to miss her and wish her the best! Have a good night!

Back at the PPP

white water raftingLast Tuesday - Sunday Trycia and I took a vacation from doggie daycare and headed off to Costa Rica for a few days.  Katie, one of our staff was just there with the U of M and helping to provide vet care.  She came back about 3 days before we left and she got us very excited for the trip and said we needed to go white water rafting.  We wanted to take a vacation where we could have a bit of adventure with it and one of the activities we did was to go white water rafting with class 3 rapids.  I am not going to lie, it was kinda freaky! Just because we were on vacation does not mean that we are not involved with the daycare.  We were always in contact with our staff and were on the webcams making sure everything was running smooth (and it was).  I know I always say this, but I know we have the best staff and it made leaving the country less stressful for me. Have a good day!
