Dog Webcam Fun

dog daycare webcam pictureLast week I ordered a camera that we can put around one of our daycare dogs necks and it captures what they see.  We tried this yesterday with Camielle who is one of the Boxers that comes to daycare.  It captured a picture every 3 minutes and most of them were blurry, but this one was kinda cool.  It is just interesting to see daycare as the dogs see it. We are going to play with it a little more and hopefully get some more cool pictures. Have a great day!

Still HOT outside!

I think everyone, including all of our doggy daycare dogs, want to know when this crazy humidity is going to end. I really don't mind the heat, but this humidity is CRAZY!!  Even the dogs want to just hang out inside in the air conditioning.  Meet Keeley who is one of the regular faces at doggy daycare and enjoys hanging out in the Ruff House.  Oh, I checked the Fox 9 weather and it looks like it should be cooling off soon. Last night we got LOTS of rain, so much that it caused some problems for out outside webcam today.  We are sorry for the inconvenience, but the problem has been fixed and it is now up and running.

We have something really cool in the works, and I really want to spill the beans.. But I can't yet!  Details really soon! Ok, I can't keep it in anymore. We started a new contest and I will blog more about it tomorrow night, but click here to get a jump start on everyone else.

Happy 2nd Birthday Schatzie

Schatzie, a German Shorthair comes to doggy daycare every weekday and hangs out in the Ruff House and today she turned 2.  She came in with a HUGE bag of treats for everyone!  Schatzie can be seen running all around the Ruff House and standing in the castle looking out the window.  One would think that going to doggy daycare everyday would make her tired at home.  WRONG!  She goes home after daycare and will go hunting in the backyard for a few hours. Another sign that the warm weather is here to stay.  Today I re-installed our webcam in the outdoor play area.  We took it down over winter because the cold weather and webcams are not the best of friends.

Have a good night.

Leo

LeoLeo is by far one of the smallest dogs that comes to doggie daycare, and he has a great time!  Leo is a mini dachshund and loves to hang out in the small dog playroom. It was a great and sad day at the daycare today.  One of our long time staff members Erika has left us to start her vet tech internship at Lake Harriet Vet.  Erika has been with us for over a year and we can't be more excited for her to advance in the vet tech field.  Lake Harriet Vet is a great vet that informs customers of Holistic and traditional types of service.  We also welcome back Vanessa, one of first employees that started with us when we opened.  Vanessa works full time at a vets office and wanted to do something with her day off which is Tuesday.  Many of you that have been with us since the beginning will remember her, so make sure to welcome her back.  There are also a few new faces around the building as we gear up for college to start up, and some of our staffs schedules have changed, so we are getting everyone ready for a busy fall.

I received a great email from Syd's dad who makes Topline Canine shampoo and conditioner that we use in the spa.  The email contained a link to a great blog post about his product.  I think it is great to see our customers succeed!

One final update on the slow webcam connections.  We have changed the streaming software we use and you will see a few minor changes in the slow connections.  If your company blocks the high speed webcams, try the slow speed ones, which should get you around your company's firewall.

Have a good night.
